Default Europe Is Baffled by the U.S. Supreme Court

Europe is scratching its head over possibility that the U.S. Supreme Court will strike down President Obama's signature legislative achievement. As the judiciary and the Obama administration trade legal barbs over the high court's authority, the idea that health care coverage, largely considered a universal right in Europe, could be deemed an affront to liberty is baffling.

"The Supreme Court can legitimately return Obamacare?" asks a headline on the French news site 9 POK . The article slowly walks through the legal rationale behind the court's right to wipe away Congress's legislation. "Sans précédent, extraordinaires" reads the article.

After pondering this concept to the extent that it requires, I have only one question: who the hell gives a shite WHAT those pathetic parodies of humanity "think" about anything. The entire continent is facing Islamization and a return to the sixth century. Its economy is collapasing. Its people are little more than peons. And we are supposed to care about their fatuous opinions?

    Doom to Europe:

Here's a problem that I see with the idea that health care is a right: let's suppose nobody wanted to become a doctor (or the number of people who chose to study or practice medicine was greatly reduced). How would the right to health care be fulfilled?

snip~ "If Americans are promised not just liberty but life and happiness, is there not a constitutional right too affordable healthcare?"

Sheeesh!! HEY, EUROPE!! The intent of the Constitution was to limit the power of government, not to expand it. Obamacare is not reform at all, but a massive expansion of governmental control over the individual.

Oh, and by the way, it's in the Declaration of Independence that Americans are afforded the opportunity to seek out 'life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness' on their own, not the Constitution.

    Morons.

So we should model our healthcare after the NHS?

Millions of people with arthritis, asthma and even heart failure will be urged to treat themselves as part of a Government plan to save billions of pounds from the NHS budget.

Instead of going to hospital or consulting a doctor, patients will be encouraged to carry out "self care" as the Department of Health (DoH) tries to meet Treasury targets to curb spending.

The guidelines could mean people with chronic conditions:

    • Monitoring their own heart activity, blood pressure and lung capacity using equipment installed in the home

    • Reporting medical information to doctors remotely by telephone or computer

    • Administering their own drugs and other treatment to "manage pain" and assessing the significance of changes in their condition

    • Using relaxation techniques to relieve stress and avoid "panic" visits to emergency wards.
NHS patients told to treat themselves

LONDON, England (CNN) -- Some English people have resorted to pulling out their own teeth because they cannot find -- or cannot afford -- a dentist, a major study has revealed.

Six percent of those surveyed in an English study said they had resorted to dental "self-treatment."

Six percent of those questioned in a survey of 5,000 patients admitted they had resorted to self-treatment using pliers and glue, the UK's Press Association reported.

England has a two-tier dental care system with some dentists offering publicly subsidized treatment through the National Health Service and others performing more expensive private work.

But more than three-quarters of those polled said they had been forced to pay for private treatment because they had been unable to find an NHS dentist. Almost a fifth said they had refused dental treatment because of the cost.
Brits resort to pulling own teeth

Closer to home, we can point to Cuba's wonderful healthcare system that the bloated pig Mikey Mooron lauded in "Sicko".

The black specks in the last two pics aren't film defects. They're flies.

So what about our northern neighbors?

Mountain-bike enthusiast Suzanne Aucoin had to fight more than her Stage IV colon cancer. Her doctor suggested Erbitux—a proven cancer drug that targets cancer cells exclusively, unlike conventional chemotherapies that more crudely kill all fast-growing cells in the body—and Aucoin went to a clinic to begin treatment. But if Erbitux offered hope, Aucoin’s insurance didn’t: she received one inscrutable form letter after another, rejecting her claim for reimbursement. Yet another example of the callous hand of managed care, depriving someone of needed medical help, right? Guess again. Erbitux is standard treatment, covered by insurance companies—in the United States. Aucoin lives in Ontario, Canada.

When Aucoin appealed to an official ombudsman, the Ontario government claimed that her treatment was unproven and that she had gone to an unaccredited clinic. But the FDA in the U.S. had approved Erbitux, and her clinic was a cancer center affiliated with a prominent Catholic hospital in Buffalo. This January, the ombudsman ruled in Aucoin’s favor, awarding her the cost of treatment. She represents a dramatic new trend in Canadian health-care advocacy: finding the treatment you need in another country, and then fighting Canadian bureaucrats (and often suing) to get them to pick up the tab.
The Ugly Truth About Canadian Health Care

The salient question: if Europe's and Cuba's and Canada's overrated socialist health care systems are so great, why aren't people from the EEEEE-vill US going to Europe or Cuba or Canada for medical treatment?

Come now, guys. Cut the Has-Beens some slack. Consider that they have been slaves to socialism for how long now? Of course they are baffled by the concept of freedom, and separate powers, and a Constitution that LIMITS the power of government.

All those concepts are totally alien to these poor victims of socialism.

People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance." --Cicero (Just comes to prove that big government always was, is, and forever will be a total f**k-up)
